Hello all!

Now that autumn is officially here and school is definitely in session let’s cover some fun October tips!

Is your child expressing anxiety or even a little aggression about getting back into the school routine? Studies have shown that incorporating Omega 3 fatty acids into their diet as well as a multi vitamin and calcium may help with anxiety and cognitive ability!

Speaking of the young ones; this is my favorite time of year with Halloween looming! Just a reminder to check your children’s treats and watch their sugar levels with all the candy! I am a firm believer of everything in moderation; no need to take away all the fun of Halloween, just monitor it all! I plan on greeting the little goblins in my neighborhood with fun treats this year!

October is also breast cancer awareness month. Let’s all take a moment to celebrate the lives of the warriors fighting this disease. Let’s also honor those who have crossed over; and let’s remain aware of the importance to keep cancer research in the forefront!

We women can arm ourselves against this disease by trying to follow a healthy lifestyle including “clean eating”; preservative free!  Also add Omega-3 to your diet either through your meals or supplements. Do your monthly self exams of your breasts and take advantage of the “Well Women” checkups offered free from your physicians. A diet low in fat and a regular exercise program have also yielded great results in fighting this disease. Take care of yourselves ladies!
