Hello and welcome to summer! By now most graduations are done and all the schools are out on break! Please be aware of children playing and slow down when you drive; they are our most amazing natural resource! As in the past I will be combining two months as part of my homage to the lazy days of summer!
I hate to start on a down note but let’s talk about the Zika Virus and how to protect ourselves against the mosquito carriers. FIRST …get rid of standing water around your house; this includes pools; fountains; birdbaths etc. SECOND…Use Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered insect repellents with one of the following active ingredients: DEET, picaridin, IR3535, oil of lemon eucalyptus, or para-menthane-diol. Choosing an EPA-registered repellent ensures the EPA has evaluated the product for effectiveness. When used as directed, EPA-registered insect repellents are proven safe and effective, even for pregnant and breast-feeding women. · do not use insect repellent on babies younger than 2 months old. · do not use products containing oil of lemon, eucalyptus or para-menthane-diol on children younger than 3 years old.
Even though we had a wetter fall, winter, and spring this year; we are still in drought mode. We have done amazing at conserving…keep it up!
That being said; make sure your body does not experience a personal drought! Stay hydrated! Drink at least 8, 8 oz glasses of water daily especially when active outside.
Wear sunscreen and remember to reapply regularly. Choose a product that has an SPF of 50 or higher. Be aware of your surroundings; whether, jogging, hiking, picnicking, playing sports and especially swimming. Outdoor living is great; keep it safe!
Don’t forget stop in to Complete Health Store for all your summer needs INCLUDING delicious made fresh daily sandwiches and salads for your picnic lunches!

Take good care
