WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2017 HEALTH BLOG
Well most of you know that Barbra has “officially” retired! So we are trying our best to fill the shoes she left behind! So here we go!
Everyone knows that after the holidays, we are trying to work off the “excess” of everything from the holiday season. As usual, we are highly motivated to work off that extra slice of pie, cake or delicious food! Staying motivated and practicing good habits is the key!
The sluggishness you are feeling right about now is due to a slowed metabolism due the excesses we have enjoyed the past months. Making sure to eliminate is essential! Complete Health Store has several top selling products to assist, starting with Roots Cleansers, Health Best Super Colon Cleanse or just increasing your fiber intake by taking Psyllium Husks or Senna Tea.
If you feel that going to the gym is a must, be sure that you are the correct exercise regime to achieve the best results. Crunches will provide a good abdominal workout, but focusing on a total body workout is better for the body. Strength or weight training should be a consideration as well. Low weight, high reps will help your body to increase its metabolism and provide toning of muscles, increasing health benefits. Legs one day, arms the next breaks up the monotony of the same regimen and providing a workout for different parts of the body. Don’t forget YOGA! Don’t forget your cardio!! A good cardio workout gives the heart the workout it needs to function properly. I was never a runner, but I love to ride my bike.
Did you know that probiotics can assist in weight loss! Studies have shown that adding a probiotic or good bacteria to your intake of fiber provides a boost to your metabolism and aids in the body’s slimming effect.
January is also Folic Acid awareness month. What does Folic Acid do? It aids in metabolism by helping the body change carbohydrates into glucose. Folate occurs naturally in foods such as leafy green vegetables, beans, mushrooms, bananas and tomato juice. Folic acid is especially important during pregnancy to avoid neural tube defects. Folic Acid is vital for mental and emotional health.
Another January topic is Thyroid awareness. If you are experiencing include low energy, difficulty losing weight, yo-yo dieting, easily falling asleep when you sit down, dry skin, cold hands and feet, your thyroid may need some attention. The staff at Complete Health are willing to assist in your thyroid needs.
