Health Talk Blog
December 2016
Hello all! I hope you had a lovely, healthy Thanksgiving! Here we go into the Christmas Season; then into 2017, a New Year!
Dear friends, I’ve had so much fun doing my Blogs; however it’s time for me to officially retire and turn the Blog over to the amazing ladies who own the business! I hope you have enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them!
Let’s talk some about keeping healthy throughout this Season of friends, food and drink!
There are a lot of foods involved in the celebrating that may not be all that healthy; but taste so GOOD! These can be balanced with some tasty healthy foods popular to the season!
Take the tart lovely cranberry. Found in both meals and desserts it is so beneficial! The cranberry detoxifies the urinary tract and blood system when we celebrate a little too much. It also prevents the build-up of Uric Acid which can cause Gout! Low calorie; no fat; enjoy!
Ginger; a common spice during the holidays helps with digestion; inflammation and circulation!
Sweet potatoes or Yams have a natural phyto-estrogen quality; helping to level hormones as well as brighten skin!
Broccoli delicious in casseroles; helps prevent certain types of lung inflammation and disorders!
Turkey; we all know has the natural relaxant Tryptophan; which is why we all like a little snooze after a turkey dinner!
Even dessert if it is enhanced with Dark Chocolate has anti- aging benefits!
The point is to enjoy everything this Season has to offer IN MODERATION and you will be just fine.
So enjoy your Wassail; raise a glass to love, family and friendship; de-stress and Merry Christmas!
It has been my pleasure to spend these last 4 years with you!
Take Good Care and…
Barbara OUT!
